Any problems with using acidophiliz

griffinej5 Aug 09, 2003 06:42 PM

I picked up a bottle of the acidophiliz stuff today for my dragons. I've never treated them for anything thankfully, and I don't have any knowledge that they ever were (3 were purchased as babies, and the rankins as a 6 month old). I figured it couldn't cause them any harm so long as I made this their vitamin supplement now, but just checking here. Three drops is a bit difficult to do when i'm just squirting it in the dragon's mouth, so I filled it with as little as I could get into it. The dragons all seemed to absolutely love it after they fought with me about opening their mouths, so this might be a good product for dragon's who don't like cricket duster on their food.

lower the side lips a bit and place a drop there, they get a taste of it and take it eagerly for me.

Yeah, at first they were a bit reluctant to have anything dropped on their noses, but once I got it in their mouths the licked it up quite eagerly. The rankins of course, being that he is the smallest, loves to pretend he's threatening. So, he's really easy. All I have to do is toss stuff in his mouth.

if your using the eye dropper that comes with the bottle for all of your animals i would be sure to throughly disenfect it between uses.
i may be a little anal here
but i NEVER use the eye dropper that comes with the bottle to put it in my dragons mouths
i either
1) use the droper that comes with it to put the drops into a small cup and than suck it up with a monoject or differant eye droper each dragon has his own monoject and never stick the droper back in the bottle after it has been in a dragons mouth with out disenfecting it.

or 2) i place a few drops on a silk worm than place the silk worm on thier basking rock and place afew more drops on it thier they eat the silk worm and take in at least 3 drops of stuff no mess no fuss!

NO CROSS CONTAMANATION
cocciaida is EASLY transfered this way

Thanks, that was a real duh moment on my part. I kinda thought about it as I drove home, that I should buy each dragon his own dropper. I bought it mainly for my rankins, but then I wanted to see if the others liked it. I suppose i'll continue using it for him until I get a chance to get buy more eyedroppers next week. Then i'll just mark eacch dragon's initial on his dropper.
