Charlie cant hold on

captotterboy Jan 11, 2007 02:25 PM

So as a treat to Charlie today i decided to try some nightcrawlers to see if he would like them. I took the worm and i washed it off so it wouldnt have any soil on it. I than dried it a bit and offered it to Charlie. He responded instantly and tried to grab it.

It was at this point i realized something important. Chameleon tounges cant hold onto night crawlers. Charlie tried a few times but couldnt get it. Ill try one more time tonight to see if he will eat them

So i tried again, and this time he hissed at the worm. I think he might have thought it was a snake or some other predator this time. Im just going to give them to my brother. Anyone know if bearded dragons can eat nightcrawlers?

This isn't unusual at all. He was probably irritated that you kept offering something he couldn't get to his mouth. Chams' tongues don't deal with worm mucous well. Some jax love slugs but find them very hard to eat.
