Superworms Exclusively

ritchie902 Jan 11, 2007 08:32 PM

Hey, I've read it's cool to fed only mealworms however superworms are pretty similar and eat the same thing....is it ok to feed only superworms. If anyone has raised their geckos on only superworms (obviously once the gecko has grown to a reasonable size) and had no problems, could you let me know? Thanks.

Yes, there are people and big time breeders who use exclusively super worms. It should be OK as long as you gutload them properly and have multivitamin and calcium supplement dishes for them to eat.

I feed mealworms ALMOST exclusively... I offer regular mealies and crickets to all of my geckos once a week. I actually noticed a HUGE jump in my juvie geckos' growth rates once I switched them to supers as the staple.

Why do supers canibalize so much when food is readily avaliable?
