This is the father to all the yellow babies I had last year.

This is the mother to the bright orange baby with the black head I've been posting. Have any of you started taking your breeders out of cooling? If so let's see some new updated breeder pics for 07. I'm going to post some more soon.
Ken

Good luck Ken,
I have done several experiments over the years with bringing them up early late etc....
I have found (atleast here in my collection) that it doesn't matter when they come up really unless they are first time breeders and the outside is warming up naturaly.
In fact I had several females that would lay there clutch almost exactly the same day each year no matter if they were brought up on jan 15th or feb 15th or march first.
I cycle everything now the same every year (oct 15th-feb15th).
Shannon
Thanks Shannon. This will be the first year I've experimented with bringing them up early. They've been down for two months in the dark at 55-60, and I believe that should be enough. I didn't bring my breeders up last year until the beginning of March. There was a girl that used to post on here named Maria that had Thayeri hatching in June last year (by the way- has anyone heard from her?) so I told myself I would try the early thing this year. I've pulled my Thayeri, and Cal kings up, but will leave my Hondurans down until the middle of Fed just to stagger my breeders. I have a pair of corns I've brought up, but I've decided to sell them. Even if it does turn really cold outside here (fat chance in Memphis) the room they stay in stays at around 80 so they'll be fine. If you get a chance post those Thayeri you just got from Michelle. It took all the will power I had not to buy her whole batch of hatchlings. lol. She really has some awesome ones. Take care, and have a nice day.
Ken
Ken,
I will get some pics once the female has shed. They really look nice and Michelle has the best Thayeri out there.
You wouldn't have to worry about stagering your breeders as they will do that anyways.Thayeri will breed pretty soon out of hibernation but Hondurans usually won't until there second or third shed.
Shannon
Thank you Shannon, I hope you enjoy them. Can't wait to see the pic's.
take care,

Michelle
Thanks for the info Shannon. This will be my first year to breed Hondos, and I'm looking forward to it. Any other info you could give me on them would be sincerely appreciated. Yes, Michelle seems to be the "Thayeri Queen" these days. lol. She has an amazing Thayeri collection, and the unusual diversity of her stock insures she will be putting out top quality Thayeri for years to come.
Ken

Ken,
They are pretty straight forward to breed but don't get excited if the female has shed a few times and isn't gravid. They are nothing like Ruthveni or greeri etc....
I know with ruthveni you need to place your male in with your female 17 days out of brumation regardless of her shed cycle..This formula will give you good eggs almost every single year.
For more info on breeding Hondos check out my west coast hondurans site.I have lots of breeding info as well as genetic background info.

What temps were you able to get for the cooling period, my temps are finally getting into the 60 range here in Vermont

Hello Adam. I don't really have access to anywhere that can get them really cool so I just put them in the closet in my bedroom. It is on the north side of the apt so it stays kinda cool in the winter. It probably averages 55-60 (closer to 60). I usually pull most of the clothes that I will need out so I won't be going in there, and disturbing them much. I have only been breeding for about 5 years, and those are the temps I've always cooled them at, and never had a problem. The important thing is that they are in the dark for the whole time. The only time I open the closet up is to give them fresh water.
Ken
PS- I really like that snake. It looks just like Evelyn except for the ground color. The saddles look the same. Good find.
Thanks Ken, She has a real nice color to her, she will be paired up with my yellow male next year to make some nice yellow babies (i am guessing), yeah i cleared out a closet up stairs in my duplex, kinda pissed the girlfreind off but she understands. this is my first year with the thayeri so i am excited, but my closet temps are right around 60 now, below is the pair that i hope to breed this year
evelyn and jesus (hey-zues)
Take it easy

They should produce some pretty babies. I haven't heard of that band. What kind of music do they play?
Ken
They are southern rock infused with just about everything from dub reggae to indie rock, i know that area of the country is where they started.

I work in General Aviation Aubrey, I liked the name Slipstream Serpents the first time I saw it.
Do your career plans involve corporate or commercial aviation?

Mike
I've been involved with GA for 20 years this July. The management structure of the business I work for is rather unique, so it's a little difficult to describe what I do. I'm second senior to the VP of Ground Support and Customer Service. My title is Ground Support/Customer Service Ambassador. Basically I'm the hands-on guy that coordinates and ensures all jobs are done right and our clients are well cared for. Our Ground Services department handles Part 121 Air Carrier charters in addition to commercial airline refueling and of course all GA activity at the field. We have a rather substantial Part 91 and Part 135 Flight Department that might make you drool, the fleet currently consists of a King Air 200, 3 Falcon 10's, 2 Falcon 20's and 2 Falcon 900's... with a Lear 40, 2 Lear 45's and 2 Global Express on order by the current Falcon owners. Most all of the Falcon's will remain in addition to the arrival of the Learjets and Globals. These people have WAAAAAY too much money. Our Maintenance Department handles most all phase inspections and heavy maintenance on the jets, in addition to operating a maintenance base for American Eagle and their Embraier E-RJ 145's.
Better than 90% of our flights now are Part 91 Corporate. I think your decision and goals to head in that direction are very wise. Corporate jet sales and flight activity seems to be in the upswing and as you know, there is major new aircraft technology steadily entering the industry such as the VLJ's and single pilot aircraft like the Honda Jet and single engine Piper Jet.
It's a cool time to get into Corporate Aviation..... so YOU GO GIRL!!!

Mike
That is quite the fleet!! You're right, it does make me drool! Our fleet isn't nearly that impressive, but we have several Citation jets, Conquests, and 414s. There are also a few King Airs, a Lear and a Beech Jet that are based here, and they operate small charter services on their own. We get Falcons in all the time... I wonder if any have been from you guys!
