what ya think bout the size?

twitchngiz Jan 12, 2007 02:19 PM

i've got 5 sub-adult/adult leopards and im getting a custom plastic cage made for all of them. Its going to be 42" x 16" x 12". that gives them 134sq in each.

think that is plenty of space for 5?

That sounds like it should be ok. Based on your specs the tank sounds like it will have equal or more floor area than a 40 gallon breeder. Just be sure to provide ample hideouts so there is enough room for all of them.

Here's what I did to make extra space in my 40gal breeder.

Please check that out! I see your using sand and that's not a reliable subtrate at all. Other then the sand your tank looks pretty good, could ahve a few more hides there is to be 2 hides per leo. Also that size tank is excellent, as long as you put levels in it. Good luck!

i got my cage now and it is freakin awesome. i love it. i would definitely go back to highendhabitats. they seem to love it. theres 2' of heated area so i have 3humid hides and 3caves/hides. 2 of those hold 4geckos. and on the cool side i have 2 humid hides and 2 cave/hide and 1 log ..

i loved the 2drop down front doors w/locks...made it much more convenient
