One of her nose shut

kotp Jan 12, 2007 02:57 PM

My bearded dragon just finsihed shed. I pull out her skin near her nose. I saw there is still a little skin inside her nose. Now her nose is stuck. This morning I saw one of her nose shut by herself. Anyone can tell me what happen?
Thanks

my dragons are very tame, I in this case would take a q tip with warm water and gently go over the area with the stuck shed and it usually with patience come off, its cool because it looks like a spiral shape the part that was inside the nose when the shed comes out in one piece............

good luck

If the shed skin appears to be inside the nostral the damp q-tip method probably won't get it out. Clean around the outside of the nose but don't use a too damp q-tip, you don't want her to accidently inhale the water.

I would watch to make sure the other nostral doesn't get clogged. Eventually your dragon will just 'blow' out the loose skin. If it persists for more than a week or two, you may need to get her to a vet to remove the obstruction in her nose.
