Gravid and lethargic...question?

Sybella Aug 09, 2003 08:15 PM

I noticed eggs in one of my girls about a week ago. I've been checking on her twice to three times a day waiting for those eggs. Since last night, she's been very inactive. It makes sense that closer to delivery, she'd be a listless but I wanted to ask anyway. Is this normal, or should I be concerned?

my experience would say normal. mine do a lot of wandering and digging just before they lay. usually my first sign is they stop eating a day or so before laying.

I love how they sleep all sprattled out in odd positions but this girl doesn't even want to get up when I pet her. She will but I can tell that it is a very reluctant decision. I feel so bad for her. I hope she has these eggs soon.

This is totally normal, my female has laid about 16 eggs and she does that all the time before she is about to lay. I usually then put her in the lay box, so she doesn't lay them anywhere else. And the next morning they are laid. Well try it out if you want

I don't know what's up with her...I took her two roommates out and put her in the lay box for the night to give her some stress free privacy.

This morning, there aren't any eggs but she still wants to eat and she's somewhat active. I say "somewhat" because she's not herself. She's slightly skittish, which is weird because she's normally the calmest thing. She's also going to shed again.

I think I just need to give her time to do her thing and stop being such a worrier.

when you say u put her in the lay box does that mean u took her out of her home or put her in a enclosed box she couldnt get out of. If so thats prob stressing her. i just keep my humid hide slightly moist when i know its close and check it a couple times a day, they almost always lay in their hides, youll prob see subsrtate from the hide skewed evrywhere when she lays them. good luck

No, the laybox is in her home. I took her and put her in her laybox. She can get in and out just fine.
