Tadpole Food

markj Aug 09, 2003 08:22 PM

Hey everyone, since I got some tads I thought I would ask what you guys use for food. As of now I am using Hikari Algae wafers and nutrafin max complete flake food. I am planning on buying some tadpole powder from eds fly meat because thats what tinc.com suggested. I have heard lettuce is good, but wasn't sure if I should boil it or not. I read that for the mantella tads that I have red meat is accepted occasionally, what meat should I use, should I boil it or cook it anyway? Thanks for your help everyone

Myself I use Ocean Star International flaked fish food (O.S.I.) which is high in Spirulina. You can get this at a local pet store or have them order it if they do not have it in stock. I also use powdered Spirulina and you can pick it up at any health store such as GNC or something like that. Ll my tads so far have turned out great. Hope this helps a bit.

I have to agree with this post. You can get spirulina pretty easily, I also use chlorella algae powder. This way you get no fillers whatsoever. It is well worth the money. I also use the occasional bloodworms for my dendrobate tads.

I use Ed's tadpole powder and they grow great with it.
