Wow! I got a hog-cobra today!

dangerjudy Aug 09, 2003 08:53 PM

I just got back from a 2 week vacation. I fed both of my snakes right before leaving. Just got in and they have had 2 weeks of no humans around. My corn snake was just as docile as ever but my hog had a show for me. He has not done this before.
He did the whole cobra hood thing - including striking at me (missing of course) and general rolling around onto his belly. I picked him up and he kept the cobra hood for a half minute or so. Then he went back to his normal self.

Wow - he has always failed to do a 'hognose show' but I guess he had gotten accostomed to the solitude.

Anybody else have this happen? It was way cool.

Both of mine do that, the female more than the male.
