O/T but I'm Excited :0)

Well maybe not as EXCITED as these two were today, LMAO

This is my male panther chameleon Cadberry getting romatic with his lady Coconut. Minutes after taking this they mated.

For a long time she freaked at the site of him. Today I was brave and put him in her cage and to my surprise(and I really mean SURPRISE) she just stood there and welcomed his advances! The rest was private...

Heres the big guy, then a pic of Cadberry and Coconut right before mating. Both are from Tyler at BlueBeastReptiles

Woohoo! Congrats to you and them! I'm glad they're "getting along"! They're quite the spectacular couple.

I know nothing of breeding chameleons...other than the picture and your description. What have you read? Will this mating lead to a likely clutch or what. Very neat though.

YEAH, she will lay , Panthers are not ever kept together. You put them together for breeding only. They mate, and you leave them together for about 48 hours, they usually mate a few more times .

She will lay in 22-24 days just like collareds. But anywhere from 6 - 60 eggs (normal being about 34) She (like collareds) can have 3 clutches in the season, about 7 weeks after first..... so on.

This can get overwhelming, so I really will be busy! The one thing that will drive me crazy is their eggs take anywhere up to 13 months to hatch but most hang in the area of about 8 - 10 months.

This will be a big learning experience for me.
