Herp room/ extra tank

paulstephen Aug 09, 2003 09:02 PM

Well, I am finally doing it. After months of saying I should, I am setting uo my herp room. Right now, my herps are sort of scattered, but I will soon have them in a spare room that we will convert half into mt herp room, half into my dads office storage space. But I have a slight dilema. I dont know if anyone recalls, but I had two crested geckos that died of an acute disease (klebsiella and salmonella). I wont bore you with details, but I have and extra tank that measures 1.4 feet deep but 2.6 feet wide by 3 and a bit feet tall. Should I get more crestys (dont worry, the cage has been VERY well disinfected), or should I try somthing else. The problem is the crestys are a bit pricy in good ol canada where I live. I was thinking day geckos, but am open to suggestions. Here is a pic of the tank, with some fake plabts so it is not so much of an eyesore. Tell me if you think I should spring the extra $$$ for crestys, or try somthing new!

Thanks for reading

just kidding.. unless you want the SATANIC equivalent of a snake... they are cool snakes, but need respect.

I would get with the day geckos... the Giants are my favorite, although I have never owned them. i just like thier neon green coloration...

and about the herp room... that is actually how I got mine. My mom had an office and she split in half so i could my snakes in there... about a month later she moved out.. ha ha.... anyway..good luck
