Male leo not h0rny?

herp-keeper Jan 14, 2007 05:11 PM

yoooo,

k this is my second year breeding leos...

i have 2.5... one of the males is in solitary confinement in a different cage lol, with one of the females...

so heres the story:

i have one male, with 3 females. i originaly had him with 5 females, then 2 of them wern't 'suitable' for breeding, so i removed them within 24 hours. so now i have 1.3. the problem is, hes not mating enough. at this time, last year, with a different male, (with only TWO females), i had 4-6 eggs. now i only have half that.

what do you think is the problem?

i have the same cage setup and all, everything is the same, except for this guys behavior.

You could probably keep the male seperate and introduce the females individually/singley.

There are alot of factors that could come into play here. One is the age of the animals. Another is have there been any unusual weather patterns in your area this winter. Also how long have the geckos been together.
I would just be patient. It is the start of breeding season, I don't start getting the bulk of my eggs till about Febuary & March.
If worse comes to worse, you could try a candlelight dinner & some Barry White music. Ha ha !
