Males loosing interest?

thelazyleopard Jan 14, 2007 06:41 PM

I've never had this problem before but today I introduced 3 males to 3 females (one each) and at first they all displayed the usual, tail vibrating, biting, stalking, ect, but then just like that they stopped and haven't even looked at the females since, this was about 2 hours ago. None of the males have mated with the females yet and it doesn't seem like they're going to at all. Have any of you experienced this before? Should I seperate them and reintroduce them tomorrow or something or just leave them be? Any advice would be greatly appreciated

As long as the males are not beating on the females I wouldn't worry about separating them. Out of 5 years and who knows how many leos & fat-tails, I've only seen actual mating once. That was late at night & quick, unlike a boa that will lock up for hours at any time of the day.
They can be very secretive when it comes to breeding. I don't see the actual mating, but every year I get lots of fertile eggs. Tells me there doing something.
