are most problem feeders female?

wisema2297 Jan 15, 2007 10:15 AM

just wondering what experience everyone here has had. Last years problem feeder was force feed 11x's before eating on her own, this year the two hatchlings out of the 9 I have that do not eat as well are also female. Has anyone else noticed this trend?

Usually a morph will be more prone to non-feeders. I have not had the sex of the snake being a factor. This year it was my opal x motley het butter hatchlings that gave me fits. But they are all eating now!

Are you trying to say females are nothing but problems?
lol.
I have never noticed a pattern. I think some of the problem feeding is genetic. I had a male that sired 2 cluthes last spring. Half, if not more of both his clutches were non feeders. The sire also had a low fertility rate. That is the only pattern that I have noticed in non feeders so far. And as soon as I realized the connection, I decided to not use that male for a breeder again.
