Heat for Leucistic Texas Rat??

Doppleganger Aug 09, 2003 09:42 PM

I recently acquired a baby LTR and I have read several care sheets that say they do not require temps above room temperature......any thoughts on this?

A little extra heat for digestion wouldn't be a bad thing. A heat pad under a portion of the cage will give the snake a choice of what temp. it wants to be at. I've kept normal TRs at around 75 degrees with a under tank heater set to around 82-85 and I noticed that they did go to the warm end of the cage after a meal.

Thats what I was thinking......w/ no heat pad, the ambient temps in his cage are 78-82 anyway.......so I might just slide it under the cage after a meal for a while.
