Proper Boa Breeding Weights

LordDreyfus Jan 15, 2007 10:45 AM

What is a healthy breeding weight for females? I don't push mine, and they seem to pretty healthy without being obese.

Female #1: 8.5 ft, 29.6 lbs.
Female #2: 6-6.5? ft, 17.0 lbs.
Female #3: 5? ft, 14.0 lbs.

I don't have exact measurements yet. The weights are accurate and are "pre-feeding" and "post stool" weights. I am trying to breed the largest female now. I may wait till next year for female #2. Maybe 2 years for female #3.

Attached Pic is female #1. That pic is from when I first got her 2-3 years ago. She weighed about 22 lbs then. She eats a 4-6 lbs rabbit every 7-14 days.

The male I'm trying to use is a 4.5-5ft 100% DH Snow boa. He's breeding like crazy so I hope it works out.
