I assume it's a ctenosaura palearis? What are his/her measurements?

how many e-mails I get from people in Europe wanting to sell me palearis which they identify as melanosterna. To me they are very easy to diffientiate. I do believe they were thought to be the same species at one time though. Maybe that is why.

Hi Tom,
I saw last week a few juveniles in a pet store. On the first look they looked like melanosterna to me, what should be impossible because melansterna are not be imported to Europe. I try to make pictures an post them..

Adult are very easy to identify. That is easy, but juvenile ?

It was a female, about 60cm long. Photo was taken a few years back at the long island reptile museum. I believe Jiffypop might have own these lizards today ? The below picture is the male that shared the cage.

I didn't receive any palearis from LIRM, just similis and a conspic. My palearis came from 2 private individuals who had no idea of what they were.
