Man central TX is COLD! Ice and Snow are not a big deal in many places but here? People do not have Snow Tires and there's no army of Snow Plows to come clean everything up. One good thing...my snakes which are brumating are probably out like lights and dreaming of mice and pheremones. Come on spring!

I live in Virginia Beach, Va. and it was in the mid 70's yetserday? My neighbor and I had a Bar-B-Q, in January? The East Coast is having just the opposite, an unusually warm winter. I'm kind of curious to see how it's going to affect my snakes breeding these season.

Its in the upper 30s here in South Texas, finally cold enough to cool my alterna and mexicana properly. I was getting worried that they would not get cool enough this year, but they should be good soon.

reako45 Jan 15, 2007 10:56 PM

Talk about cold! I don't think it got a degree over 40F today, and nights are in the 30's w/ ice on the ground. I'm in Southern Cali-friggin-fornia for pete's sake!!!

It was 18 degrees this morning when I left for work. There is two inches of snow still on the ground (the last time it really snowed was last Thursday). We're supposed to get more snow in the morning which means that if it does, I ain't leaving the house. I freely admit that I am a sissy when it comes to driving in snow and ice. I don't like it when I'm turning the steering wheel one way and the car insists on going the opposite direction. Not to mention all the people out there that think that just because they have four wheel drive that they can just go as fast as they want. I drive an ass happy Datsun 280Z. I can go really fast on dry or wet ground, icy ground is another matter. She just likes to spin when she's on ice.

She's my street sleeper. You wouldn't know it just from looking at her but she's got a high performance engine under that hood.

here in N. Central Florida we are going to get the tail of that front tomorrow and just a chill, drop down to the 60s for a day. as i posted earlier i fed all snakes on New Years weekend if they werent blue they ate like banchees. i am pretty sure thats the last supper before spring . it is causing the butterfly effect i heard the N/E is in spring bloom only to fall next freeze and will NOT bloom again this springtime any comments?

FunkyRes Jan 16, 2007 10:08 AM

It hit 23F here last night.

Doesn't get much colder than that.
Rarely snows here - maybe a good snow that sticks only about every 15 years or so.
