Too cold?

FireTalon Jan 15, 2007 01:06 PM

I have a basking light during the day and that seems to heat it up nicely(I turn it off at night), but when I come in to switch it on in the morning, I find that the temperature decreased a lot. Btw, the UHT is on full but my thermometeris on the wall and not on the actual substrate so maybe I'm worring about nothing :-/. Thanks anyway

Allie

you want to measure the temperature of the substrate itself. NOT the wall

those stick-on aquarium thermometer strips, and analog sticky thermometers aren't really worth much, they're often inaccurate, and people make the mistake of slapping them onto the side of the tank.

You can find $7-8 digital thermometers with probes at most supercenters and home improvement warehouses... I'd suggest getting one of those, and put that probe right on the floor of the tank, to get the best readings.
