Ok NOW I'm scared!!!!

coluberking25 Jan 15, 2007 03:56 PM

Ok I just read Dustin's story and now I'm scared that Rocky will randomly die on me. He's eaten twice for me. I keep the warm end in the low 80s and have pretty much given up getting the cool end up because I figure Rocky's smart enough to keep his body temp where he wants it.

Take it from one who has kept DOZENS of BRB's and produced HUNDREDS of them. Relax, even if you're semi close on temps and humidity, snakes will do fine. They really are very hearty creatures. They've not survived for millions of years for no reason. They can withstand very harsh changes to their environment. I've lost a few over the years and have learned from my mistakes. I've not lost any for years (knock on wood)

BTW, unless something bad happens to you, you will outlive all the snakes you get for quite some time so you will have to suffer their loss. Part of living my friend.

Dont be scared man.. She didnt just randomly die. It was because she got outta the cage. There is any number of things she could have gotten into in my room that would have been harmful to her. Just dont let your snake escape.

Shouldn't be a problem. All my snakes are in those so-called critter cages that are made secure to prevent escapes.
