identify ctenosaura

I know someone who has these species. He got them from someone when they were almost dead. At the moment they are doing better, but the identification of this specie is unsure to me. Is this the palearis? They are much smaller at the moment than they should be.

Hi Mark,
what are the difference between juvenile Palearis and Melanosternas. Is it just the colour: Palearis are more grey, Melanosterna's beige ? Or is it the form of the head as well?
