Your first time.....

kellybee Jan 16, 2007 03:08 PM

OK so Thursday the greenies can get up, I am SO excited, off to buy some new reptile sand tomorrow (Brick red), and desperately trying to get the final coat on my fake rocks to dry (Its making me angry, that's why I'm in here so I cant see it!!)

I have put the Desert collareds in a large container which is dark because they still have another two weeks, and lifted the towel from the vivarium with Yoda and Yoshi in so that daylight can get in there tomorrow yet it will still be cold, Thursday I intend to switch the UV on and close the window so they warm up a little, then they can me moved back into the lounge where its a little warmer on Friday.

Goodness I'm really hoping they are ok, am i a freak or was everyone's first brumation this worrying?

No it's a little scary to let them sleep for that long, sometimes I think I shoud heat them up just to make sure there OK, but then the sane part of me stops me from doing it.

Lol, I'm only pulling your leg, I'm very sorry

Just good to know I'm not the only one.

I opened the curtains today sothey've had daylight, still no heat though. Tomorrow the window will be closed so its a little warmer and the curtains open a little longer.

OK So they were warmed a little yesterday but didnt wake up that I am aware of, Stu was home most of the day and checked them every few hours. The younger Desert Collareds were scratching a little mind you, which is typical.

Anyway they have a few more hours natural daylight today, and I'm hoping to switch on the UV light tomorrow. Finished my fake rocks, they look great, Camera is broken however so pics next week when my new one arrives
