Hello-
Just thought I would post some new info regarding the babies born last September.
The largest of the three is already 8.25"
The smallest 6.25".
Weight is not known yet...they do not stay on the wife's digital scale long enough..but they are all very plump and really good eaters...thankfully.
The diet has been mostly Romaine, raddiccio, dandelion, and when avail turnip greens.
they get occasional sprouted beans, and not too frequently 4 mealworms a piece.
I have dusted their food twice in the last three months just as a test.
Since they showed incredible sibling rivalry and my belief this was the cause of so many of the hatchlings deaths, they are now all in separate( like the adults) enclosures, totes, bins, etc...
If there is an opportunity to bred this year and a successful hatch, I will not hesitate to separate them right out of the egg.
As far as the adults are concerned, they are all fine brumated for about a week then came out and danced on the glass till I fed them....Go figure, the coldest recorded temps in So. Cal and they come out of brumation!
Hope all is well with your Uros.
Ed
Will post some new picts soon
