What size tank for a Rough Green?

Matt_015 Aug 09, 2003 11:23 PM

I have a rough green snake, and I need to know what size tank to put it in. I have it in a 10 gal. right now, and because the snake is pretty small (about a foot or so long), it seems semi-adequate, but I'd like to give it a bunch more room. What does everyone suggest? And what about plants to put in the cage, any special types to get/avoid?

Are these pretty decent care-sheets? -

Thanks for the help,

I have kept mine for a year and a half (she is an adult and about 2-2.5 feet long) in an 18x24x30 (tall) cage. I use a ficus- she spends a lot of time in the shrub. In addition to crickets, I also feed wax and silk worms. She hates to be touched so I only handle her for cage cleaning.

How often do you feed it? I fed mine 3 large crickets today, I think he probably would have eaten more but I didn't put any more in his cage. Thanks for your help,

Matt

One side of the cage is screen, so I put in 6-7 crickets and if there are none sitting on the screen I put in more (pretty scientific, huh?). I would guess that if feed 6-7 crickets every 3 days.
