heating rack

yellermelon2 Jan 17, 2007 07:34 PM

Hi Has anyone used the zoomed heat rope with there racks? I was wondering if it would burn the plastic tubs? Im guessing i could use a rehostat to change the temp, but to get it hot enough to maintain 88 it would have to get pretty warm? Not to mention i was gonna try to just run it up the back of the rack to give a "cool/warm" side. Any suggestions or experiences.

I tried it once and didn't like it. I could not get the temperatures high enough to provide a good warm spot. I guess if you run 3-5 passes of it under each box you might get good temps. But for all that I'll just stick with the flexwatt.

I wouldn't worry about burning the plastic. As long as your heat source stays below two to three hundred degrees, you should be fine

In other words, you would have cooked leos long before the plastic melted or burned...

Good luck,
