Overfeeding My Leo's

arithemermaid Jan 17, 2007 09:00 PM

Hi all,
I just recently bought two leopard geckos. I'm not quite sure how often to feed them. I like to give them a combination of crickets and mealworms. I was wondering:
How often should i feed them and how much?
Is it possible to overfeed them and make them overweight?
Thanks!

Yes it is a possiblity to over feed they will usually vomit. They should get about 10-15 crix daily and i feed about 3-4 mealies. If i feed a waxworm or two they only get crix then no mealies. I seperate the feedings to about 5-10 crix i throw in the morning and then when i get home from work i get everyone out one by one to play and then give them their mealies and the rest of there crix. Good luck hope that helps a little bit.

10-15 crickets and 5 mealworms a day? Unless your gecko is huge and the crickets are tiny, that seems like way too much.
