That looks amazing!
I've only ever caught my snake shedding the once and didn't want to miss any of it so didn't get any pictures but that is just class!
Hey!,That's a great pic!!What kind of camera do you have ? Jeff
Thanks Jeff,.......I'm glag you liked the pic. ......The camera I recently bought is a Canon "PowerShot A540". It had some good reviews that were written by "pros" as well as amateurs about it on the web, they said it had a lot of "bang for the buck" and had many features of cameras costing much more money...In any case, I'm very happy with it so far..................best regards, Doug

Doug, I'm glad you posted that. You created the perfect example why you don't measure a sloughed skin to determine the size of a snake. In the casting, you showed the skin that was under each scale, right next to the corresponding scales ON the snake that show the scales touching. Add to this the flexibility of the sloughed skin and you can see that the shed can be as much as 40% longer than the actual snake.
Way to go. Not only a great picture, but a valuable demonstration for snake keepers. I can't tell you how many people call to tell me their corns are over six feet long. Then, I give them the bad news. lol. Now, I'll just refer them to your picture.
Kudos!

Thanks Don,.......I'm glad you liked the photo, How RIGHT you are about the additional length that is added to a snake when someone goes by the length of the shed skin!!!. I get the same responses from many people as well!. Same thing(as you well know) applies to actual "snake skins" that are stretched MUCH longer than the "original" snake when "tacked" to a board!!(LOL). Aside from that, there just isn't all that many quality pics in most books for many people to see....anyway, glad you liked it......best regards, Doug
