I have a very light colored anery motley. What color morph do you suggest I breed him with to get interesting results? I was thinking a Lavender.... What do you think?

I have a very light colored anery motley. What color morph do you suggest I breed him with to get interesting results? I was thinking a Lavender.... What do you think?
Well it depends....
By interesting results do you mean neat looking first generation offspring, or neat looking second generation offspring, or do you mean interesting combination of heterozygous traits?
I assume you mean interesting looking first generation offspring in which case you have to remeber that almost all cornsnake genes are recessive. This means that if you cross two snakes that don't share any common morphs or heterozygous for morphs in common etc... then all the offspring will be normal looking but het for whatever morphs the parents showed.
I apologize if my explanation is not clear enough as I am really tired at the moment. If you read arround on traits/genes/morphs in the forum you should have your answer. Just remember that for cornsnakes pretty much all morphs are recessive.
I have been keeping snakes for over 10 years but have never ventured into breeding. So I am still doing my research.
Ideally I am wanting interesting 1st generation morphs. From your explaination would that mean I would have to breed him with a het Lavender to get 1st generation Lavenders rather than breeding him with a Lavender? I really like the motley lavenders so that is why I am asking...
Any other interesting combos for an anery motley for 1st generations are welcome
THANKS
What he is saying is that unless your anery is het lavender then your offspring would all be normal het for lavender, anery, and motley. If you want 1st generation lavender motleys then your lavender has to be het motley and you have to breed him to a motley lavender or a lavender het. motley.

Assuming your 2 snakes are not het for anything else, The pairing you suggested will get you normal looking triple het for anery, motley, and lavender offspring. Your second gen. offspring will be more interesting, possibly producing anery, lavender, motley, anery motley, and lavender motley.

Maybe breed him to a hypo blood red. Then breed the offspring together to get some anery bloodreds (very cool looking), and ghost motleys.
