This pair should go this year. The male is from the granite line and the female is a applegate.

The young one should breed next year and he is from the granite line also.

Awesome mex mex Shannon. I never really paid them much attention, but Michelle has warmed me up to them. She loves them, and I am starting to like them more, and more as time goes on.

Great mex mex Shannon. I've been putting together a group of specks over the past couple years myself. For whatever reason I became so interested in these things that I began doing a little background research on two of the bloodlines in the states and I'm curious... who produced yours and what do you know about their lineage?

My adult male was produced by the Galvans from Alpine Texas. My young male was produced by BHB (Brian told me that some of the siblings were 100% specks).

The line that Soderberg and Shores has is from Europe by its the same line cause they got over there by way of Gerry Salmon and he got them from the Galvans (sp?).

Anyway,I am pretty sure they are all from the same line.

Hey, thanks Shannon... you're psychic dude, you gave me exactly the info I was looking for. You picked up exactly where I hit a communication breakdown, which was the breeder in Germany who was the originator of the Shores-Soderberg line. Soderberg led me to Dave and Tracy Barker which is where he acquired his. Dave and Tracy acquired their original babies through Kam at Bushmaster, Kam brought them back in from Germany. A fellow named Peter Vise developed those specks and I was only able to get a snail mail address for him in Germany. Thanks much for helping trace them back to the US!

I understand Mark Bell brought his over from Germany himself, at some point I'd like to trace his back to see if they eventually end up in the same place. On the one occasion I spoke to Mark I didn't think to ask about the breeder that developed his, I was too wrapped up with taking a few shots of the pair he had on his table. I didn’t buy that pair but here they are:

Female.....

Male.....

They were both mighty nice but that female in the top pic was unreal. I'm a little more attracted to the slightly less speckled ones to be honest, a good mix of specks, pattern and color just seems more interesting and better looking to me and that's what I'll be shootin' for. And a nice 100% speck now and then will be a bonus and that's how I understand it goes... a nice one or two here and there. It's cool you're into these things, I'll definitely be interested in seeing what happens over there.

Mike,
Yes,I saw those specks on Marc Bells table also.I did ask him were he got his stock and him and Brian got them from the same guy (Helmut Hansen) in Germany.
Helmut also sold to Peter Rice in the U.K.
They all went over the pond to Helmut via Gerry Salmon from N.Y.
Gerry got his from the Galvans from Texas.

Anyway,They are all related way back when.

Those are fantastic, I especially like #3. I really think mex mex are unappreciated beauties. I have 2.5 and I love them. They are so slow moving and docile. Thanks for the pix's.
