Talking about niles

MikeT Jan 19, 2007 03:48 PM

Does anyone have any outrageously colored niles? I was at Jim Nesci's a month back and saw his 5 foot nile. It had the most incredible colors, like someone had airbrushed it. I have a 30 incher that doesn't come close to the colors that his had. I was quite envious. I'd love to find something that looks like that. Would also love to see some pics.
Thanks

We have some really bright ones. One animal in particular is simply special. Alot of color in Niles seems somewhat dependent on temperature. Right now in the cool temps we are having the ours look fairly dark. Given higher temps and alot of basking the yellows and golden browns start to show.

On the 'special' animal we have he has the yellow quite abit of white. Really nice looking. Sadly I don't have a great pic of him as of yet. We'll see how the color goes as he ages as well.

Niles are pretty variable within reason from the base standard.
