Anerythristic = supers?

Red_Hydra Jan 19, 2007 06:39 PM

Since I' m locked in the dog for forgetting to pick up wife from work, I got time to catch a few boas in action. These photos were taken in 90% darkness and still turned out. I got the photos in the dark because did not want to disturb the boys from the tail chasing.

Question if you breed Anery x Anery are there supers, or are the babies just labeled 100% Anerys?

Insertion......way to go buddy.

This one was just above these other two and thought to take a break and scare me with a washroom break.

Comments welcomed.

Having a super form would imply that the gene you are working with is codominant...in other words looks different in the homozyguous form than the het form..and diff from the het to the normal form.

The anery gene is not codominant, but recessive. Anery bred to anery would produce all anerys. It is breeding two identical homozygous recessive genes together...which will give you a complete litter of anery boas...nothing more...nothing less.

Hope this helps.

Anerythristic is a recessive morph gene. Breeding an anery to a normal boa will produce all normal looking offspring that are 100% heterozygous for anery.

The pairing you have of an anery x anery will produce a litter consisting of all anerys.

If you bred an anery to a het anery, the litter would b 50% anerys, and 50% normals that are 100% het.

If you breed het x het, you would have 25% of the litter anerys, and the other 75% would all appear normal, but would be what is called 66% possible het anerys.

I hope this makes sense, I tried to keep it as simple as possible. Ask questions if you have them, its why we're here.
