yeah that is very nice example of a grade "A" yellow leonis. My original breeding stock started with a male like that and what a fine stud he turned out to be. The tough part is finding a female of equal quality so that you have a higher probability of reproducing that smae color time and time again.
So what will you breed him to when it's time?
Russ
Thanks Russ, he is quite nice and it looks like he'll keep that strong color. You'll see more when I upload a few full body shots. His pops decorates the Mexicana main page and he's quite the stud himself... hope this little guy carries on the tradition. You're right on the female issue, nice males are difficult enough to find and great females are next to impossible. I have a few that might work well though, and a mature male with the same strong color that will have his first shot at them in a couple months.
Some of the females below from my old gallery, Jonel Lopez and Vermilya snakes...

Mike
You have some nice yellow females. I really like the last one posted she is extremely bright. the Vermiyla female is also stunning.

Thanks Adam, she's pretty nice and I don't mind hearing that. But honestly there are a lot out there like her, the color and pattern type isn't all that uncommon but this one I must say is pretty clean. We'll see if her or her momma can produce another this year.

Mike
Well if her looks are common than she is at the top of the list, i am waiting to see if one hatches out beleive me. but as i am sure you know, and its like what rick said, with thayeri there is something for everyone, it doesnt matter what they look like its a matter of what catches your eye. and alot of things catch my eye.

Hey Mike. I wonder if your Verm female, and my Verm male might be clutch mates. I got mine from Dave Weymouth a couple years ago when he was selling some of his breeders so I'm not sure how exactly how old he is, but he has got some size on him. What do you think?
Ken

Hi Ken,
I don't think they're clutch mates... unless Dan kept your male from public view, he isn't in the group of clutch pics from my female's 2003 clutch. 2003 unfortunately was the first year I had enough storage space to begin keeping all his clutch photos for the records. They certainly could be related, Dan could tell you. They definitely have the same beautiful colors going on, love that male, great snake! I remember when you bought him from DW. I'd love to see what he and my female would produce.

Mike
I think he is an 01, or 02. I bet they would make some cool little ones. Probably lots of greens.
Ken
He is sunshine yellow. Very bright and beautiful.

Mike's Logan male does make some mighty fine babies. He has several more young ones ready to go this year, can't wait to see what happens over there.

Wow! That is supper nice.
Wait until you see the rest of this guy Tony, he's a nice clean male. It took me a few years to talk him out of a couple. The exciting thing is, Mike kept his best for several years and the first of those are ready to go this year. I have a feeling the best is right around the corner and Mike isn't gonna get a lot of sleep later this year.
-----
Mike
I'll second that. The female I got is likely a sib or close relation to yours. She however isn't nearly as nice in that there is a lot more orange in the yellow. Still she's quite a nice looking animal. I'll post a pic after she sheds.
Wow, that's one hot lookin Thayeri. I love the airbrushed look on the head. Beautiful snake.
