New addition what kind?

betterboa Jan 19, 2007 09:32 PM

Here is the new female corn I purchased today. It seems I cannot even walk into a petstore anymore without leaving with a snake. They are so addicting. What would you call this morph?

I hate to point out the obvious but, I'm gonna do it. Its an Anery Motley, like the lid says. Nice snake. I think anerys are very cool though.

Many times I find pet stores with snakes that are marked incorrectly, however, your's is exactly what was marked on the lid!. An anerythristic "motley" cornsnake................Doug

Y would that corn in the picture have such a washed and faded look. These are my two anerys and neither are as pale . Are they just different variations?

the motley gene has sort of a "washed out" effect on the sides and concentrates pattern mostly on the top of the snake it also creates a solid white belly. thats why it looks so "light" as compared to a normal anery

I would agree with everyone else except for one thing. Does that snake have blue eyes or is it just my screen? I have seen blue eyed ghosts but have not seen just a blue eyed anery.... Anyone?

I am going to have to say that the blue eyed question along with the question about the faded colors has to do with shed. That snake is probably in blue phase and will be much darker and not have blue eyes when it sheds.
Post pics after the shed so we can see that snakes' true beauty!
