In response to many helpful suggestions (and since I got my driving privleges back), I went out and got a new set up for my rescued WV Black Ratsnake, Roberta. It took a couple trips to find what I needed, get it all home, and set it up, but I finally finished yesterday.
She now has a 40-gal, 16x16x36-inch Critter Cage - all to herself. Her setup includes climbing logs, multiple hides, and Jungle Earth mulch.
Her intial response to her new digs was to poop! She then began borrowing through the mulch. Today she is calmly exploring, climbing and burrowing. Not only does she seem calmer, but she seems more confident with being out and about. Plus the new set up looks so much better than the old one!
Many thanks to all who made suggestions for ways to get her to stop nose-pushing. So far, so good!
