I just got a kingsnake, and I read online that they are supposed to hibernate. Is this true and if so, should it be hibernating now since it's winter, or do I skip this season being that it's young and has been moved around alot.

I would forgo this season's hibernation because this is a new pet and you first need to assure this is a happy and healthy animal before cooling. Additionally, if breeding is not intended you don't need to hibernate/brumate ever.
