How do you prevent....

skyfire_1 Jan 20, 2007 04:48 PM

I found Mites for the first time on one of my snakes this morning. I went to the local reptile store we have and picked up some Reptile Relief to spray on them and their cages. Here's my question: What do some people do to prevent Mites from coming around in the first place. Is there a spray that some people like to use while cleaning maybe?

Of no pest strip in the cage for a few days every 4-6 weeks.

you can spray the bedding but you can also spray in onto a cloth and just apply it around all the openings of the cage. These instructions for prevention came with the can on a seperate sheet, from the manufacturer:

After 14 years of clinical research and testing, it's good. It works and is harmeless when used as directed.

P.S. I haven't used a no pest strip since 1987! We have way way better stuff now, leave that stuff made for a different purpose alone.
