I have 2 retf in a 30 gal octagon. I was wondering if I could add a clown tree frog? I did a little research and both have about the same temp and humidity levels.

I am of the opinion that mixing should only be done if you are experienced with both animals in question and have a large enough tank. 30 gallon to me is not a large enough tank. I would say that your red eyes are perfectly comfortable in their environment and territories that they would not want any intrusion. It would mean competition for space and food that could stress out your frogs and possibly kill them. Also, each frogs have their own toxins that obviously don't usually adversly affect their own species but could prove fatal to a frog of another species. All this to say that you should probably get another tank set up and enjoy your frogs seperatly, they would probably thank you for it.

I think my frog owns a megaphone....
White's tree frogs : 1:1
Mantella viridis : 1:2
I completely agree. I have 2 RETFs in a 29 gal and, though it's said you could have more in there, I wouldn't add any more frogs to that tank. They really don't take up any space while sleeping but when they are awake they move about quite a bit and need their own space. I notice that my frogs take opposite sides of the tank while hunting.
Putting a different species in there would likely stress one or the other, not in the way that we'd normally notice it, but could make them stop eating, or not being allowed to the water areas to soak. That is not to mention all the little cooties they each have, while our own are fine exposure to foreign ones can kill.
So if you want a different frog, just get another tank. That's what I am doing now, besides it gives a great opportunity to work with different tank styles and apply different things.
