I picked up a couple new babies today, I just couldn't say no... what do you guys think they are, I was told Normal Stripe Motley, and Anery Stripe Motley, the more I look at them, the more I wonder if that is what they really are, especially the normal. What do you guys think?

Thanks!

Those are both really nice. I think they were ID'd correctly. The "normal" may have some Okeetee influence, as it is very bright. There's a heck of a lot of varations in normals. Here's one I picked up in 2006 that's normal on color, yet has a pretty whacky pattern:

I'm still learning, but is the top 'normal' part bloodred?
It's the belly making me think that.
Again, still learning so lemme know if I'm looking at it wrong.

Very pretty either way

the motley gene gives it the white belly and the smoothed look to the sides. No Diffussed (bloodred) involved

Ah right, I didn't know that, thanks!

Genetics is a very involved thing, and it just seems to get more and more confussing as we learn more and discover more. I will never understand it all. I only know the basics! lol

The first one looks like a normal motley to me. Very pretty. The second, I , myself would not consider a motley stripe. It does have a couple patterns stuck together, but to sell something like that, it'd have to have more stripe. I do not know what the set standards are, but that is just my opinion. They are both very nice snakes. I need to add an Anery motley to my collection!

Pics of the Anery didn't come out so well, there is less striping then the normal, but the Anery has the same side striping in parts as does the normal... I don't know either what the "standards" are. Wasn't sure about the normal, with the grey head, maybe having some blood red, but iut makes sense about what the motley gene does to the sides and belly.

Your normal motley looks just like mine, except that mine doesn't have the greyish head. I'm seriously thinking about getting an Anery to add to the growing collection. Very nice looking snakes that you've got there! Congrats!
