Pics after the first shed

Thank you guys for all your help on getting me through that first shed. I made a super humid hide box for the snake and it loves it. Wont come out any more! lol. That solved all my stuck shed problems, along with a nice soak. Well here is the new skin and a headshot (if I can figure out how to post two at a time, if not look in the next post for the head shot)

If the humid hide substrate is aspen/pine shavings I will tell you a big problem with that type of substrate and getting it wet..when it gets too wet, and can't dry out fast enough, it really has a tendency to mold up pretty quick. Which is why those types of bedding really aren't the best things for animals that need to keep a specific level of humidity, much less in a humid hide area.

If you want that its better to go with some barky substrates that can tolerate being wet down and help hold humidity levels like cypress mulch.

Thank you so much. This just proves I have much to learn! I am still way stoked about her and she lets me handle her tons, and loves to slither all over me now. She just had to get used to the new home, she seems to be doing very well though.

I will try and find some Cypress mulch, and replace the aspen.

No problem..while aspen and such does look nice, it just can't handle being wet down as much as bloods and short tails may been their substrate to be just to keep up normal humidity levels, not to mention a bit higher for periods of shedding.

A good thing to definately have for bloods and stp's is a water dish that they can fit into, because another thing they can be found doing a lot of is soaking, especially in shed periods.

That I do have. The snake has only sat in it once though, that I've seen.
