Remember the dragon that started the color thread? LOL

Well.......... The guy took me up on the offer of shipping him back and getting the purchase price refund

Guess that means he is going to be back for sale.... Kind of crazy to ship him back if you ask me, especially considering he will come out with very little after all the shipping, etc. Am I right in refusing to refund his shipping charges? It is not like I made anything on the shipping fee. I told him he would have to ship him back at his expense not mine since the dragon is healthy, etc. His only problem is he isn't happy with the color.

He is NOT red! lol

Seems par for course, or what others do in that sittuation, that's if they even take it back. When you buy it you pay shipping if it's not health related and the breeder is not at fault for your displeasure you pay for the shipping back to get a refund. Majority of breeders have a policy something like this. That is if like I said above they even would take it back. You don't make money on the shipping. Oh well sorry this happened. I went to your web site and had a look around. The pics look really nice. I think that effort you put into perfecting that was well worth it. What exactly is that bearded dragons breeders and suppliers network?

It is a group of breeders that have certain standard in regards to selling dragons too young, etc. Basically we all agree to only sell babies that are 6 weeks or older, healthy and eating. They have more info on theri site.

Why dont you keep it? It would save him having to be shipped yet again. You could always ask the bloke to send the one he was originally going to send as well.
Seems a shame that this little fella is being pushed from pillar to post just because he isnt red, he looks like a right cutie.

Thats the one color that has never appealed to me (carrick bugs excluded)

This thing on dragon color and returns seems to only be a big deal on red ones and I have seen it so many times, not just here, but many forums and sites.

If its that darn important to a buyer, I think they should have some responsibility also to clarify they want a RED dragon. Once you make a sale on an animal that you have provided pictures of I guess if it is orange we all need to make sure the color the person thinks they are buying is ORANGE and no guaratees what it will be when it sheds.

Reddish colors often shed out orange or gold. Dragons lighten as they age usually with each shed. If talked to a few people that bought dragons they through was red and was unhappy when it arrived a deep orange or shed to shades of orange, asking them if it was sold as red they say no, but they saw it and thought the breeder did not know what he had and they were getting a deal......... duh!

And yes, the person SHOULD bear the cost of the shipping, you have to now separately house that dragon and quaratine it, as you have no way of knowing what it might have been exposed to since it left your home and I have seen more than one breeder have their entire collection wiped out by a returned animal that was infected with something it got at the purchasers home.

Hey! Just wanted to say thaT WHEN i WAS READING the last thread on this guy I was on a different comp and couldn't see ANY red whatsoever! However, I'm on a friends comp tonight and that dragon looks like he is really red. I mean REALLY red. Just thought it was interesting after the thread on color...
