Over two years ago I purchased a "Louisiana Ribbon Snake" from a local pet store. It has been living nicely in a 20 gallon tank with a substrate of Moss. It eats ONLY goldfish, I've tried feeding it other things but that's not the point. The point is yesterday I found 6 Redish/Orange things all over it's cage, I'm not sure if it's male or female. They weren't buried and they were scattered randomly across the cage. Now, are these eggs or should I be worried?

Note:This snake has been alone in it's cage for those two years, it has had no contact with any other snakes.

Nahh they are slugs...unfertyilized eggs...thus you have a female.

Thanks! I thought they were eggs but just wanted to be sure.

Garters are live bearers. They lay no eggs. What you've found/seen is actually probably a fungus or mushroom or something ike that. I don't realy like using moss or grass or anything like that as substrate. i use newspaper, aspen bedding, and paper towels.
