So my two ball pythons have been together for 4 and 1/2 months. they've been mating alot, including the day that they were put together and this morning. My female is 3 and1/2 feet long and my male is about 4 feet long. Is the female to small to be bred? She's not gravid as far as I can tell. She's about 3 or 4 years old.
I had planned on getting the male his own cage, but I haven't gotten it all set up yet.
If the female is big eehough to be bred, why do you think that she's not gravid yet?

how much does she weigh? Did you cycle them? Are you sure they are 1.1 ?

The scale that I use is not to reliable, I think that she weighs between 800 and 900 grams, but I could be wrong.
I didn't really cycle them on purpose, but they were kept warmer and more humid during the summer. They've been mating though, so I didn't bother to.
I haven't taken my ball pythons to get sexed by a vet, I just asumed that the previous owners of my pythons were right. I hope that they were right, if not, I would have a pair of gay snakes.

Hrmmm...It sounds like to me that your female isn't big enough yet....Most breeders shoot for the 1500 gram mark before pairing them up(or at least 1200 grams)...I have a few i'm pairing at 1400g,but most are over 2000grams.
Cycling refers to a(moderate)drop in temperature during the breeding season.(For production of viable offspring.)
..and yes...one male could be displaying dominance over the other...hope not.(sodomy 101 lol)
