Anybody up for rainbow soup??

rainbowsrus Jan 23, 2007 03:03 AM

It never ceases to amaze me how fortunate I am to to be the keeper of such an diverse group of BRB's. Some of which I even produced. Here is a group shot of some very different ones.

Top left, the largest one is Pheonix, one of my 2005 babies. He is sooooo red he looks like he is on fire.
Top Right is Amber, his sister. As much as I try, I can't capture her true colors.
She is the most fluorescent orange BRB I've ever seen.
Bottom left is Dumbo, A male hypo I got from Mike Lockwood.
Bottom Right is Tawney, my Anery female from Brian Sharp, Check out how white her crescents are.

Yeah, gotta love variety. Notice that there is one who is markedly absent from our pics. Someone make contact with Ian and tell him to start showing off the albinos.

Everytime I see Phoenix and Amber I am like whoa! If you could put me second on the waiting list for Amber's twin behind yourself Dave that would be great , haha nice pics.

And the real kicker is I can never get a pic to do them justice. You think the pics are great, you should see them in person!!

Are there BRB albino's in captivity? The only albino rainbows I've seen are the albino CRB's that Rubio has. I've heard of people planning on crossing the albino CRB strain with BRB's to try and bring in the albino gene but I haven't heard of any actual albino BRB's yet.

If there out there then PLEASE post pics. I'd love to see how they look.

Someone has one and the snake is pictured in Designer Morphs-A great book. I don't know how high of a value it would hold to make a hybrid, but I'm sure the true enthusiast wants the real deal brb not half of one. IMO since brb's are more popular with everyone as opposed to columbians no offense if you own one, and since crb's sell for a little less than brb's, I think it would be considered when price came but an albino peruvian on the other hand might get some money. It's just too soon to be readily available.

lol no offense. I don't have any CRB's myself because I like the brazilian pattern too much to settle for the CRB's faded apearance.

The reason I asked is I hadn't seen pictures or heard confirmation of a albino BRB. I'll have to check out that book you mentioned.

I mentioned the albino CRB x BRB hybrids not because I'd really be interested in one but because the first place I heard there might be a BRB albino in captivity was from someone looking at hybridizing them to avoid the high ticket price of a true albino BRB(and because albino CRB are available now).

Glad to hear that there are albino BRB's out there though. Means we got alot to look forward to in the next decade or two

Are you sure the picture in designer morphs is a BRB and not a hybrid?

The reason I ask is that when I did a search for designer morphs albino BRB to try and see if there was a pic or info on it I got a search response of a kingsnake form topic saying it was a BRBxCRB hybrid. I tried to pull up the article to get the details of what they were saying but it wouldn't bring up the posting.

Anyways I'd be interested on any info anyone has about it.

100% brb baby (Epicrates cenchria cenchria) In the author's words- "My advice is simple; if you plan on getting an albino brb, get your name on a breeder's waiting list." Another one is- "...your first word will be...WOW! This has to be one of the best looking albino mutations in the snake world." I think the author would have said the best looking albino in the snake world but he sells bci's so he can't put the albino brb up on a pedestal haha, but I would love to see a picture of one too.
