Feeding, but now more Questions

KevinM Jan 23, 2007 08:46 AM

Our Saharan Uro has been feeding, but I am not sure how much to offer. It definitely doesnt eat as much as my torts. It ate the small amount of greens offered, and has picked a few of the mixed veggies out of the small crock bowl offered. I am used to my russian tortoises plowing through quite a bit of greens and basically fill up a paper plate full of greens, etc. for the pair at each feeding. How much do you offer a Uro per feeding??

Feed as much as it will eat. This will vary day to day and season to season, but to give a general idea, I use a 6" paper plate and put a good healthy handful of greens on, then add the veggies and extras.

Thanks, that is a great reference point for estimating volume to offer!!! I quess I am too used to the torts plowing through a large plate of greens in less than two days LOL.
