I have a dragon that is about a year old guessing. She is 16" and 250 grams. She hasn't eaten in over 2 months and has been brumating. She hasn't lost weight but I am concerned about how small she is and that she looks pretty thin (always has). She was tested for parasites prior to her brumation. She is not the most intelligent dragon (possible inbreeding) but very sweet. She is on tile but seems to hate it. All my other dragons are on wood, but she poops wherever she sits and it's just too hard to keep wood clean.
I woke her today to check on her (gave her 1/2 strength apple pedilyte as I have done before). I did get her to eat two small crickets. Every other time I woke her she would want to dig (on sand) so I would give her the 1/2 log back and she would go right back under to sleep. This time I let her stay out around the house. After about 4 hours she slept under a blanket on the couch. So I made a bed of paper towels taped to the tile put her on it and put one over her. She did awake when I moved her but seems happy now.
My question is that someone asked about using cloth towels in a posting prior but you recommended against. I can't remember why. Can you refresh my memory?
I have thermostats and use temp gun but I feel that the tile heat is not to her liking. She is practically white and just doesn't seem to like being as warm as other Dragons.
I have discussed her with Vickie Dachiu (a friend) and she feels that 4-6 weeks is a long enough Brumation. But she is at a loss for how to stop her since most breeders don't have cage furnishings that allow brumation even though normal temps and lighting periods are maintained.
Any breeder cycling info may be helpful too.
