Thanks for all your comments. Please vote for one of these
three names:

LANCE

MEMPHIS

SUNDANCE

If this goes well, I still have four other turtles that need
names.

Thanks again-
Kevin

I'm partial to Lance (thanks Ryan!).

With that beautiful coloring...it has to be Sundance! The sun looks like it's dancing on his shell..

...it's gotta be Lance

For a male, I'd have to vote Lance also. That was very clever.

I have to vote for Lance. It's too perfect because of the lanced ear.

I like "Sunbeam" for one of your torties.

I like sundance best before reading others thoughts and now think lance would be embarasing to him. We should not call others names to point out their imperfections.

I did that with my Chip, I named him that based on his injury but to me it's endearing not embarrassing. When people see him & find out what happened to him they feel sooo sorry for him that they are nicer to him than they are to those who haven't had problems.
It's like our big sulcata tortoise- people think we're crazy when they first see that we have this big slow lumbering animal in the yard... but when they hear that we took her in because somebody shot her 3 times with a .22 they feel so sorry for her they just can't get over why anyone would do that to her. Then they want to pet her and they want to see her have a good life.
It really makes a difference in people's attitudes toward an animal when they know what a hard life it's had in the past.
That's been my experience anyway...

Dialoge is good. I'm still trying to keep up with the cuttlefish issue but it will make me consider the issue and probably use every last bit up instead of throwing a little piece away. If people are going to eat it anyway why not use the bones though. And Walmart is not whats wrong with our world. I like calamari/squid but maybe turtle soup is even better and I like to think box turtles are smart but I'm pretty sure they are not that bright by any measurable amount.

Flaws are what make us unique & having a sense of humor about those flaws is important.

At first I liked Memphis (guess I am the only one!) But with the yellow shell and all, I'd have to go with Sundance. Plus, since you have other turtles to name, you could continue with the sun theme: Sunbeam, Sunday, Sunshine, Suntan, Sunfish, Sunburst, Sundried, Sunhat, Sunflower, Sunkissed, Sunstroke, Sunny, Sunnyboy, Sunbaked, Sunbathe, etc. (There are many more options!)

Then, again, Lance is nice too! ; )
