Questions concerning Pastel Balls

toddbecker Jan 24, 2007 10:16 AM

Hello everyone. I am just getting in the door of Balls and let me tell you it can be pretty overwhelming and confusing when trying to get a grasp on all the morphs. I have dealt mainly with Burms and tics for the last 15 years but i am going to concentrate on Balls for the next five years or so until I retire from the military and then can focus on both Balls and the giants. I plan on purchasing several pastels, spiders, and mojaves. My main question for now is I have noticed atleast three different nomenclatures associated with the Pastel Balls. Bell pastel, Graziani pastel, Lemon pastel, and of course the hundreds just labeled as pastel. Are these all compatible with each other in the attempt to creat supers or are the incompatible with each other and the resulting offspring would just be pastels of one form or the other depending on the parents. For example a male lemon bred to a female bell. Would this prodece a super pastel or would i get a random mixture of normals, bells and lemons. Thanks in advance for any assistance, Todd

Todd,

To the best of my knowledge they are all compatible(Graziani, Bell, Lemon) except for maybe the Enichi line. I am working with NERD Lemons and Graziani Jungles, But you can't go wrong with any of them. Definitely one of my favorite base morphs. Good luck.

all compatible.
Enchi "pastel" is a total different morph that has only the name resembling a pastel

There are many many "lines" associated with the pastel, like others mentioned the enchi pastel is seperate from the rest, but
BELL
NERD
NERD LEMONS
MATRIX
GRAZANI
BLONDE (MATT TURNER)
and im sure there are a few more but those are the most popular i beleive, they are all compatiable with each other. Certain lines are sometimes known for different things but they can all make supers with any combo
