Brumating in an apartment?

DRW Aug 10, 2003 12:19 PM

Hey guys,

I used to have no problem brumating all my colubrids in my basement when I was in high school, but now I'm in an apartment in New York with no access to such places.

I have no basement, no garage, nothing. Does anyone have any innovative ideas for brumating snakes in an apartment setting?

I had a friend who used to brumate his eastern milksnakes in a refrigerator. Worked like a charm for him, but they do need some pretty cool temps to be successful. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

A frig can get kind of cold, but a wine cooler is perfect. You can get it up to about 60. You can pick up one new for around 80 and you might be able to find a used for less.

do not brumate..they'll breed.........

your apartment will cool down a little bit........

unless you have the AC to high ,,,,

then they may be brumating now.,???

they 'll breed without brumation
