Activity After Feeding

JL1981 Jan 25, 2007 12:47 PM

My thayeri is very active after feeding. I have had a children's python and a grey banded king and both of them would hide for about two days after eating. My thayeri is very active, crawling around, even hanging from the top of the 10 gallon cage. One of the meals was pretty large as well. Has anyone else noticed this?

Also, I have seen her haning from a small platic clip from the top of the tank. Do thayeri like to climb?

I have noticed mine are pretty active. I have never offered them the chance to climb. But I do know one morning I found one of mine sitting coiled nicely on a book shelf. I must have left the top off the tote and he escaped the night before.
take care,

I have noticed this with many of my snakes. I think it is a natural result of hunting for prey. I assumed that snakes are opportunistic feeders and in the wild if they came upon a nest of pinkies they would naturally continue the search after eating the first one.

Cool...also, last week was the first time I fed frozen thawed pinkys to my snake...I didn't have to wiggle it...I just dropped it in, she sniffed it and then just ate it...no constriction, no hesitation. Is that normal?
