Morph and designer list

toddbecker Jan 26, 2007 02:18 PM

I have been reading up a lot lately about Balls and am utterly amazed at the number of naturally occuring genetic morphs that occur. I have dealt with the larger pythons and the number available in tics and burms do not even come close. Not to mention all the number of designer Balls available. What I am looking for is a good solid list of all "known" morphs and designers. But with the designers what makes them up. FOr example I know a bumblebee is a spider and a pastel. If someone knows of a site that lists them or would be willing to take the time to compose the list it would be greatly appreciated. I know NERD has a list but it is the same as it was several years ago and I know that there are so many new ones out there. Thanks in advance for the assistance. Todd

The photo is of an albino five lined skink I caught in my yard in Southern KY a few years ago. I know its not a Ball but it is the only one I have ever seen and I think it is pretty cool.

Dude, that is an awesome albino!! I can't even fathom what the odds are against ever seeing something like that in the wild. Too cool!!!

Unfortunately, I think the best list I've ever found of the morphs was from NERD, so I'm no help.

Ralph Davis's web site has a long list of "morphs" as well as other stuff that he is always hoping to prove out (which often ends up not being simply inherited) - good discussion on a lot of them.

Good luck

Glossary of genetic terms. The list will be added back in the future, in the meantime I can email it to anyone who would like it.

Amazing Skink?

What happened to it???

The list we have has not been updated just yet. We are building a new site and there are MANY MANY new things and lots of designer pages.

The most complete listing with pictures at this point would be the second version of my book....the problem is that it is in German!

I made many updates and improvements on this one.

Maybe Greg Graziani has a list....

TO everyone that is curious about the Skink. I kept it for the summer and it did fine. THen I had to deploy to Iraq and I turned the care over to my son who is 13 and lives in Michigan. It is still alive and who knows maybe someday I will hook it up and create som little hets. I have thought about it but I keep asking myself, does the world need a bunch of albino five lined skinks...lol...Thanks for all the lists and thanks for all the comments about the skink. Todd
